We all know her name,
She is the grim reaper–
Her dance partner is death
Her real name is Crystal Meth.
To know her is to love her,
A rose by any other name
Would not smell as sweet . . .
She clearly knocked me off my feet.
I waxed nostalgic
Longing for the way we were.
Oh, could she conjure the past–
I really thought I was having fun.
I tried to make the feeling last but–
The die was cast–
And I hid inside the shell
While I constructed my own hell.
My shudders closed to hide the sun.
This fair-weather friend
Became a foe.
Then I called her Tina
Until I saw her true demeanor.
Now I call her Meth.
She also goes by Crystal–
The first woman I ever loved.
She took my breath–
I was like a ram caught in a thicket
Deep inside her burning bush–
I listened when she told me “shush”.
But her recipe is death,
And her name is really Crystal Meth–
But her recipe is death–
But her recipe is death.

I ALSO THINK YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL GIFT WITH WORDS. I ALSO KNOW HOW TALENTED YOU ARE WITH ACTING, PLAYING THE PIANO, SINGING AND LOVING PEOPLE. YOU CAN FIGHT TINA AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU CHOOSE TO BECAUSE YOU HAVE A STRONG INNER BEING. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND PRAY FOR YOU EVERY DAY.
YOUR SISTER
CELIA
Thank you very much Scotti… I have visited your site just now and left you a message there!! Thank you very much and the offer for prayer is so much appreciated.

Hi John,
I am glad I stumbled aross your blog while surfing wordpress. You really have a way with words. I am really touched by the openness on your blog.
Although I have never met ‘Tina’
I did have a problem with alcohol. Praise God, I have not had a drink since August 2004. I truly did have to give this over to a higher power, whom I know as the Lord Jesus Christ. He makes all things new.
I still struggle with my addictive personality. I have gained about 20 pounds over the past couple of years because sometimes I now turn to food when my emotions get the better of me. I am telling you this not to discourage you, but to say that I am no where near perfect and need to rely on the Lord Jesus each and every day. He promises to show us the way out of temptation when we call upon Him. He has delivered me from alcoholism and now I am relying on Him to see me through all things. It’s a day by day commitment and I am so thankful for the changes that have happened in my life.
In one of your posts, you asked for prayer and I want you to know that I am committing to pray for you on a regular basis for deliverance from addiction. Jesus loves you, John.
Take care,
Scotti
